Landing page or site:the difference is the job,not the page count

The difference between a landing page and a website is not the page count. Arguing about one page versus several is pointless until you have named the visitor and the question they showed up with. Four differences actually show up once you are building the thing, not in a brochure: the job, the structure, how visitors behave, and what each costs to own. Plus the boundary: when one page is enough, when it starts to get in the way, and when several pages pay for themselves. We run both on a subscription, a landing page at 12,800 ₸ a month, a corporate site at 14,700 ₸.

Where the difference sits

Four differences that show up once you are building it

The number of pages is a consequence. The real difference starts earlier, in the job you give the page, and it ends with what it costs to change that page a year from now.

The table

What each format genuinely does better

Both formats are assembled from the same kit of sections, and both cost a known amount: a landing page is 12,800 ₸ a month, a corporate site 14,700 ₸. What tells them apart is one thing: how many different questions the site has to serve. Find the row that describes your situation; that row is the answer.

Non-standard logic: a bespoke build, from usfrom 1,500,000 ₸from 3,000,000 ₸from 3,000,000 ₸

The highlighted column is the one people usually start from. Moving from a landing page to a site is possible at any time: the sections stay, pages are simply added, and the plan goes from 12,800 to 14,700 ₸ a month. Non-standard logic (calculations, customer accounts, an exchange with 1C) is a bespoke build from 1,500,000 ₸, done by us. All plans and modules are on the pricing page.

What people ask at this point

Do we need a site or is one page enoughWe have 12 services, so where do they goWe are starting paid ads, what nowCustomers keep asking for a price linkWe want a blog, but not yetPeople search for us by company nameWe need a page for a promotionWe have a site, nobody reads to the endThree languages are mandatoryWhere do the terms and company details go
The boundary

When one page is enough, and when it starts costing you

The list is deliberately short. If your situation is in the left column, a multi-page site adds nothing right now except work. If it is in the right column, the single page is already losing you enquiries; it just does not show up in any report.

A landing page is enough

One job, one traffic source, a finite horizon

  • One service or one product, and a second is not appearing in the next few months
  • Traffic comes from ads and social, not from search
  • An event with a date: a course, an intake, a sale, a booking window
  • Testing demand: you first need to know whether anyone calls at all
  • A separate campaign for a business that already has a site

A landing page starts to get in the way

The symptoms that say the page has outgrown itself

  • More than five services, each needing its own explanation
  • People find you with different queries, but there is one page, competing with itself
  • A customer asks for a link to a section and you send an anchor mid-screen
  • A blog, case studies or vacancies have appeared and there is nowhere to put them
  • The page has grown to twenty screens and nobody scrolls as far as the form
  • You need company details, terms and a privacy policy, and the footer has no room
How to decide

Four questions in order, and the answer stops being a matter of taste

The order matters: the third question means nothing until the first has an answer. You can work through them in one conversation: no brief, no designer, and before any spending.

01

Name the one action the site exists for

An enquiry, a call, a booking, an order, a job application. If you end up with several actions and they are different, this is no longer a landing page and there is nothing left to guess about.

5 minutes

One action, or a list of them

02

Write down the questions people ask before that action

“How much is it”, “do you work in my area”, “is there a guarantee”, “who actually does the work”. Each question is a candidate for its own page. Six or more will not fit on one screen, and they start getting cut.

15 minutes

The customer's real questions

03

Look at where people will arrive from

Ads deliver people to the page you chose. Search delivers them to the page it chose, and with one page it has no choice. Maps and messengers send traffic that wants prices and contacts as their own link.

10 minutes

Traffic sources for the year

04

Decide what changes within six months

A new service? A second location? A Kazakh version? If yes, cost the changes rather than the build: on a multi-page site they are local, on a landing page they touch the whole thing.

10 minutes

The format is chosen

If you remember one thing

A landing page is not cheaper than a site. It is cheaper on launch day and dearer on the day the business changes.

The page count is a decision about how many different questions you are willing to serve, not a budget line and not a measure of complexity. One question, one page. Eight questions on one page gets you eight weak answers in a row; there is no saving in that. The gap in the subscription is 1 900 ₸ a month, 12,800 against 14,700, and it pays for itself with the first service that did not have to fight for room on a single page.

Independent of the format

What is the same in both formats

These are identical for one page and for twenty: what the plan includes, it includes in both, and a module costs the same either way. Leave them out of the landing-versus-site decision.

Three routes

How we do it: three routes and what each one costs

We do both the subscription to a ready, editable site and the bespoke build, so the route is chosen once and you never have to change supplier. A landing page is 12,800 ₸ a month, a corporate site 14,700 ₸, and a bespoke build starts from 1,500,000 ₸.

Fast start

A landing page on the subscription: 12,800 ₸ a month

One page assembled from the section catalogue: offer, services, reviews, form. Enquiries land on a kanban board and the lead card names the page they came from. Right for a campaign, an event, or testing demand.

The usual answer

A site of several pages: 14,700 ₸ a month

The same sections, but as many pages as you have questions: services, about, prices, contacts, blog. The blog is already included in this plan. Each page is an entry point from search, with its own title and description in each of the three languages.

Built to order

A bespoke build: from 1,500,000 ₸

Pricing by formula, an integration with stock or accounting, a customer account area, non-standard order logic. That is separate work and we do it: a landing page from 1,500,000 ₸, a corporate site from 3,000,000 ₸, an online shop from 5,000,000 ₸, a portal with customer accounts and integrations from 8,000,000 ₸.

Questions

What people ask once the decision is nearly made

Short answers to the things that actually decide it, with no talk of an online presence.

Decide in practice

Build both and look at them side by side

During the trial you can assemble a single page and a multi-page site from your own content. Comparing two finished versions is easier than comparing two descriptions. Or write to us and we will name the format that fits your job. A landing page is 12,800 ₸ a month, a corporate site 14,700 ₸, and a bespoke build starts from 1,500,000 ₸.

  • A 3-day trial, no card; a your-name.shardit.app address is issued immediately
  • You get an answer about your job, not a template reply
  • Non-standard logic is built to order, from 1,500,000 ₸
